They would get along but uarus grow pretty large. A 55 gallon is too small. You could keep a severum in a 55 though

I wouldn't even keep two adult severums in a 55. If you've seen adult male severums, you'd know that's really cramped.

Uaru are out of the question, IMO.

I would do just one severum. They can grow up to ten inches in a 12 inch wide tank. Set ups with cichlids are hard to do in a 55 with those dimensions. If your into angelfish, that would be a lot better to set up. Im in the same dilemma. I just have cory cats in a 55 so im thinking a few discus or angelfish.
