1) How many uaru would you do in a 180g?
2) Can Uaru a. and Uaru f. be mixed
3) Can they go with Hoplarchus?
4) Has anyone seen any Uaru fernandezyepezi since Rapps had them? Thanks
Great idea for a 180gal!! I would do 6-8 Uaru A. that, way you'll get a pair or two out of them. You should be able to keep at least 6 full grown uaru a. in that tank for life. They love each others company, so there not the typical cichlid in that manner.
I dont know much about uaru f. besides what i have read online about them, but it seams as though the two should be fine. I have no idea where you could get some uaru f. either.
I would just do all Uaru A. and would get 8 to start, along with some ditthers to keep the tank active.

thanks joey. so 8 to start, then remove 2 as they get older? One of my many dream tanks is a uaru/hoplarchus with river stone and a large driftwood and black background
yea i dont think it will be to much of a problem for ya, i had a bunch of true wild parrots with uaru in a growout tank about 4 inches and the parrots picked on the uarus night and day
will probably vary from fish to fish though, sounds like a sweet setup
let us know what your plans are
from what i have read uaru and discus arenot a good match. Uaru are such pigs at feding time they will push the Discus out of the way as they tend to by shy and some what timid
