For a few days i noticed some of my uaru with a white hue on there lips, and some white ish spots on there head area, they are acting fine, eating well, responsive and still very curious. Still can anyone help brake down what this mite be? They were abit aggressive to each other yesterday.. maybe they nipped each other? There is a video of them in the link

One of my flag tail catfish had something matching your desription white marks on its head and white lips but it cleared up after about 3 weeks I put it down to it injureing itself on some of the drift wood in the tank as they dart around quite quickly if startled. I kept the water clean and treated the tank with some stress coat.

Maybe a lip locking. Monitor and keep the water clean. Ask duanes duanes for his opinion.

check out the video if you haven't.. idk but there is definitely some aggression every few days, of which only one uaru dosent participate in the aggression, not chasing, nor chased... its manly between 2 uarus that chase each other

Saw the video. Not clear to me as i don’t keep any cichlids but I’m guessing. The other uarus maybe getting it too. Maybe add more plants and decor to separate lines of sight and let them hide a bit more.

will try some more decor, but plants will all be eaten, heck they eat the wood and leaves too

Forgot about that. They will eat all that. Maybe some more spindly wood then.

If it was simply isolated to the mouth, I'd venture to believe its simple lip locking scrapes.

But the white patches higher on the head, the patch in the dorsal visible at 14 secs, and on the flank at @45 secs, all look similar, and may suggest something more. Bacterial? Fungal? even viral?
What is the temp of the tank? mid 80s is perfect temp for cultivating bacteria.
What is the water change schedule, and amount.
I agree, being mostly vegetarian, any plants will be decimated.
Were they recently shipped? The stress of shipping often leads to viral infections like lymph (as in most viruses, no meds are useful, only clean water)
Was the cat added without quarentine, after the Uaru?
Was the cat the first fish? often old fish are immune to infections the new fish aren't, and present in the tank, if the Uaru were added later, an acclimation type quarantine.
Is your tap water hard? and highly alkaline?
Some soft water species become susceptible to infections in hard water, that are normally benign.
I'm guessing that's why the leaf litter, to add tannins.
I realize, not much help, but there could be multiple reasons, or just one.

I got the cat a week before the uaru, and made a 50% water change every week, Uaru have been in for a week and wernt shipped. Water is 74.. kinda low for Uaru i know. its not alkaline.. 7PH if anything but hardness i believe is abit high. not sure how to make softer water.
