hi everyone i have two young uarus they are ok but i bought another one today which is a lot darker and has faint strips my other two wont leave it alone they keep attacking it also my blue acarus are having a go at also any help would be obliged thankyou

Uaru have a reputation for being pretty docile, but mine are pretty nasty with each other. Each of my three 5" uaru keeps to its own 24" section of a 72" tank. They give my pike cichlid all he can handle, too.

If I added a newbie to the group I imagine it would not receive a particularly warm welcome.

As stated above, rearranging tank decor would be a good first step at integration.

blue acaras have a habit of taking advantage of weaker fish. if the fish fights back the acara doesnt know what to do.
the beatings will likely continue because juvie uaru are extremely shy by nature. i advise you to remove the uaru or the acaras.

the one with faint stripes sounds more like a juvie uaru F, juvie uaru A have spots but ive never seen one with stripes.
the new uaru is being picked on because it is new, this may decrease over time but i advise you to take it back or increase the uarus (if tank size permits) and keep them at an even number so no one fish takes all the beatings.
