If Swick could have stayed healthy, this had a chance to be a very good, full card. Even though he's out, this is still pretty solid, even without a title fight.

I'm also going to put some of the fights from UFC Fight Night on this thread because I'll assume we don't need a thread just for that.

Nate Diaz Vs. Melvin Guillard

Gray Maynard Vs. Roger Huerta

Carlos Condit Vs. Jake Ellenberger

Nate Quarry Vs. Tim Credeur

Sam Stout Vs. Phillipe Nover

Thoughts:

Rich Franklin Vs. Vitor Belfort (195lbs.) - This should be a very entertaining fight, that I think has a good chance of ending early. Both guys are good on their feet, and will look to keep the fight there. Rich is coming off a win over Wandy, and Belfort is on a 4 fight win streak, with the most recent being a brutal KO over Lindland. I have become a Rich guy over the years because I admire how he approaches the sport. I like his stand-up, especially when he concentrates on kicks. Rich is very capable on his feet, but I think he has trouble with guys who come hard at him, and thats what I think Belfort will do. I may be on a Lindland KO hangover, but if Belfort is anywhere near himself on his feet, I think he'll be too strong for Rich. Franklin will put up a fight, but he doesn't ahve a great chin, and that will get tested in this fight. Belfort has been gone from the UFC for a while, but he is a good fighter and has a pretty solid record. I look for Belfort to make a big splash in his (re)intro to the UFC, and drop Franklin.

Mirko Cro Cop Vs. Junior Dos Santos - For me this is the most exciting fight of the night where we get to see an up-and-comer in Dos Santos take on the "I don't want to be a gatekeeper" Mirko Cro Cop. I think that Cro Cop still has some good fight in him, but I was not impressed by his win over Al-Turk. I don't jsut mean the eye poke, but prior to that, I thought that Cro Cop let Al-Turk get too close to him when Mirko has the reach advantage. I like Dos Santos a lot, and he really likes to scrap on his feet. I expect him to come hard at Cro Cop, and in a fight where he doesn't have a reach advantage, Mirko will find out too late that he can't just let Dos Santos come at him like that. I think this will be a TKO win for Dos Santos.

Martin Kampmann Vs. Paul Daley - I really wish Swick was still in this fight but since he isn't, I expect Kampmann to get a victory here over an experienced challenger in Daley. Kampmann has been fighting well lately with only a recent loss to Nate Marquardt, and there's no shame in that.

Josh Koscheck Vs. Frank Trigg - I'm really interested to see what Trigg will have in his return bid, and I guess that if he wants to come back, he must have some gas in the tank. I want to think that I'll be seeing the old Frank Trigg on saturday, but for some reason I doubt I will. Really, I just don't know if he'll be good enough to handle Kos in his comeback fight after getting cracked by Thiago. I still think Kos can be a very good fighter in the UFC, and I think he'll get healthy against Trigg on saturday. Trigg is strong, but Kos is an above average wrestler, and on his feet he is very quick. I like Trigg being back, but nobody did him a favor in handing him Kos in his first fight back.
There are other fights that should be very good, especially Griffin and Franca. I also want to see what Escudero has in him, if McFedries can put wins together, if Marshall can keep the streak going, and The Janitor's return.

not excited for this event imo... main event isnt so bad

belfort is not as good as he was years ago. back when he smothered ortiz with rapid punches, i doubt he could still perform like that in the octagon.

only fight im really interested in seeing is cro cop. he was one of my favorite fighters from PRIDE. in his first UFC fights he was a shadow of the beast he was. he looked OK against al turk, but still not as good as he can be, so its going to be exciting to see how he handles a young guy whos going to stand and bang

if nothing else, it should be a killer fight. Junior Dos Santos is the brazilian kickboxing champ, and we all know stand up is where cro cop is best. if this fight stays standing, which i predict it will, someones going out cold.

i got cro cop by 2nd round KO

I wont be ordering any shows this weekend but I am interested in seeing how this card grosses compared to the boxing PPV.With allof Mayweathers trash talking he will look like quite the fool if the mma show outdraws his boxing show.Go Cro cop,go Trigg.

I got Rich Franklin, Junior Dos Santos(dont really want him to win, but I think Mirko needs to drop down to 205), Martin Kampmann, Josh Koscheck, Tyson Griffin, Cole Miller, Drew McFedries, Jim Miller, Brian Foster, Rafaello Oliveira, Eliot Marshall, Vladimir Matyushenko,

As for tonight: Nate Diaz, Roger Huerta, Carlos Condit, Sam Stout will be taking home the W's
