Jones/Rampage - I like Jones in this fight. I think Jones is a bad matchup for Rampage(and most guys). Rampage loves to rip off his huge counters, and you would think that would work well against a guy that is as aggressive as Jones, but the reach is going to be a killer. I think Rampage is just going to eat too many shots trying to sneak in a counter, and he is really going to have a hard time figuring out the distance against Jones. I like Jones by TKO, first round.

Hughes/Kos - This will be tough for Hughes. He has always been suspect on his feet, and in this fight, if he stays up too long, Kos will make him pay. And while Hughes has had great mat skills, Kos is no slouch. I think Kos catches Hughes, and it could be ugly. Another likely first round TKO.

Broughton/Browne - Browne looks tough, but I'm not totally sold yet. Another good performance, and he could a big fight. Toss up.

Diaz/Gomi - Reach is going to suck in this one too. I just dont see how Gomi has a shot. The only way I see Gomi winning is if Diaz gets cocky(and he will be) and starts eating punches to try and get the KO, and he gets dropped. Otherwise I think Diaz can dominate, and probably a Sub win.

The rest is kinda meh, but I hope Boetsch throws Ring out of the cage.

The Bones Jones steamroll continues with a submission no less.....Rampage now wants to attempt to settle an old score with Shogun.

that was thoroughly disappointing, but can't say I didn't see it happening even though I was in denial telling myself Rampage could do it. Shogun and Rampage...winner gets another title shot? Seems like a lost cause, though, but maybe Rua deserves another shot when he's 100%. Maybe Shogun will show better if they fight again. That is if Shogun can get past Hendo. IDK

anyway, can't wait to see Cruz fight this weekend

edit: well, so much for that...."Dana White announced that the winner of the main event between Rua and Henderson will likely be in line for a Light Heavyweight title shot after Rashad Evans.[6] (wikipedia)"

yea shogun's tied up to fight dan. page now wants forrest in japan

about the fights. it went like i expected, i been a long time page fan too, but i knew he wasn't going to beat jones. it wasn't his cardio either, he came in great shape. he just couldnt' get around the reach. jones fought a perfect fight, followed his game plan to a tee really. i've said this before, everyone is gonna be the underdog against jones. rashad has a chance of turning it into a wrestling match which is what his best chance is. so we'll see how that plays out but i got jones stopping rashad also.

kos vs hughes went like i expected as well. surprized though by how good hughes was doing but the inevitable happened. at this point in hughes career he can't handle a young strong guy like kos. kos' has the better wrestling imo and at this point he's stronger and hungrier.

sad to see gomi handled like that. it don't get anymore lopsided than that. reach was too much and his ground game has always been his achilles heel. old bushido gomi would never get handled like that. you'd never see him shoot for a leg as a result of pressure from punches. if he ever wants to be competitive again he will need to change everything. he's getting no where as long as he is only training at his gym beating up his students only, while the rest of mma is using current ever evolving methods of training to continuously evolve along with the sport

Sounds like a good point with Gomi as far as his training.Hopefully, for his sake,he will realize this soon.

look what it did for yushin okami. i mean, sure he still lost to anderson, but everybody loses to anderson. but it was great for him to come over and train in the states. he stated in the countdown that he has learned things here that they never do over there in japan. he won 2 or 3 since coming to train at team quest before losing to anderson.

the important thing is that he was willing to go and train outside of their box, that's what they need to do in japan if they wanna keep up. i think that's one of the main reasons why the japanese fighters can't compete over here. some of them go off on talent alone and that isn't going to be enough for long. they come over here and get embarrassed. imagine gomi coming over full time to train at AKA or with greg jackson or even BTT.
