UGF mod question

This just came to me.....
If i take an UGF and hooked up a HOB with the intake tube of the HOB connected to the tube on the UGF could this make a large better filter than if i were running them on the same tank but as seperate entities??
odd question but i got a few UGF and some small HOBs laying around and was thinking about doing a mod like this. just want to know if it would be worth it....

i dont think so just because its easier to clean the hob then the gravel n as you do the gravel the hob would then need to be cleaned

It would work, but a seperate UG and HOB would work better as long as you have powerheads running the UG.

i just figured that a UGF gets filthy and are junk, so i was just wondering if the hob could improve on it. got a few UGF lying around so i figured id ask

Actually UGFs are good as long as they are maintained Canister filters work great for this modification
