Somewhere lost
Okay my sister is now living with us the one who needs to upgrade her animals to better tanks. Anyways, she has gotten the monitor who is not nice at all so she wont handle it. Well she likes mine because he is handle able but I prefer only when need be in till he is completely happy with his home. Well I go to dads gf's for the night because I had to work today and she lives closer to where I work. Anyways my sister said she got crickets for the monitors. But I got crickets also because she thinks 12 per monitor is good(hers is underweight and I hope I can fix that and show her how to properly care for it:() So I got about 50 for them and my Crestie. Anyways I go to put some with my Savannah's cage and I go to open the lid and shake some in and he starts hissing. Never before has he done this. And I know she has been in the cage because the lid wasn't even shut all the way. I also can tell she had to of done something because he always comes out for food right away. No matter how full he is. But he just stayed in his hide out hissing. Also will not come out as long as I am in the room which never was an issue as long as I didn't move to fast. I was happy with the progress I was making and I hope it wasn't all completely ruined. But anyways long story short she is no longer allowed to do anything with my animals unless I am in the room and I am locking my door from now on when I leave. :irked:

oh man. i dont know much about them but i hope that you can fix this. Also try not to let her animal suffer. i know it will take alot of work but get her handleing that thing and put some pounds on it asap. Also some pics would be pretty cool.

I will get updated pics of mine tomorrow and get pics of hers also. Mine should be fine once he realized it was me he is now out and eating like the little pig he is. Hers I worry about. He isn't greatly active and I am thinking about doing higher fat foods like a few more pinkys. I would rather have him gain weight before handling. Anyone who is good with savs think adding more pinkys to her savannahs diet would be a good idea?

They both are Savannah's. I can tell something is up with hers. It is the same size as when she got it. She got hers 2 weeks after me and I have had mine 2 or 3 months. Hers is at 6" mines 1' at least. They both were the same size. Also to me looks really skinny. Mine has never been that skinny.

Thankfully she lives with me so I can take care of it myself but here are pics

But like I asked would feeding 3 pinkys a week be a good way to fatten him up? It will only be temporary obviously.

yes feed the skinny sav pinkies for now til it gains weight substantially, then switch to mixed insects diet and occasional pinkies, HB eggs and even quail chicks when it's big enough to swallow it.
