Yes, the problem is that it's not the educated fishkeepers that are buying them. It's the Oscar syndrome. Most oscars, irridescent sharks, ... and painted fish are sold to new fishkeepers, who are not told about the problems they will face. And it's difficult to educate individual LFS owners as it's quite a difficult business to do well in, and they are really driven by the $$ and wont stop selling if it sells.

Hmmmm....

Paradise hit it right on the head...as a keeper of oscars and other cichlids, I have seen that people just aren't ready for advanced fish keeping techniques that they require. It is a shame really, but what can you do?! Tex, [smilie=afro.gif]
