i've been contemplating installing a UGJ system for some time now. i need opinions please...
first off... i have a 150g tank. 48 x 24 inch footprint. it's stocked with mixed africans. gravel as substrate. lots of rockwork. potted(yes potted [crushed coral at the bottom with larger stones at the top. it prevents them changing their living room around every 2 days and allows me to have some greenage]) plants. and plenty of filtration.
my question is this... how can i make a UGJ thats more "diffuse"? with all the rockwork, i know there's gonna be dead spots. that is, unless i come up with a plan that has 497 jets/outlets.
i was thinking about a closed loop, with holes drilled into the pipe. if i used a tight enough "grid" pattern, with properly spaced holes, would i get enough flow to push the funk up and into the circulating water? i know, i could cut down on the rockwork and switch to sand, but i like what i have.
i've tried to search this topic, but haven't gotten much info... so, please fire away!
