Hi everyone. Well, I got started with flowerhorns about 10 months ago and this one was the 2nd one I got. It is supposed to be a SRD but the colors throw me off. I've never seen this coloration on any other flowerhorn before. What are everyone's opinions on my fish and what grading. Thanks in advance, Ed.

I'm sorry. Still trying to use my cellphone pictures but too dumb to post them. Here are some of the pictures. The one with the bright colors is when I first got him. He was that color for about a month or two. He's kind of ugly and cool at the same time. Anyone every see this type of coloration? What are your opinions and grading? The only thing I did was change the small river rocks to a rainbow colored gravel. I thought he was stressed because he turned dark but it's been 8 months, he eats like a pig and likes to beg for food. He's black with flecks of light and dark red. Is there anyway to brighten his colors back? He is currently eating Hikari Gold, krill, gut-loaded mealworms, Grand Sump, and squid. The Hikari Gold is the staple and the others are just treats. Thanks, Ed.

Well, I hope you don't like him exactly the way he is now, he's a fader, he's clearly going through the fading process right now. He'll very likely fade completely, don't know if he'll be a deep red, but he'll at least be light orange.

he's a chunky mofo i like him!-)

I thought faders get lighter not darker.
