Okay. I was nice. She is looking into getting a bigger tank before getting a bichir.
It's easy to attack someone for not knowing any better, it's harder (and more desirable over time) to educate the person. You chose wisely. Good job.
Yeah. I let her know. 40 gallon is cool for grow out, don't go smaller because they get big fast, will need at least 100 in 6 months.
That's how we get more people into the hobby, right? If you guys had been jerks to me when I first started, I don't think I would have gotten this far.
And, uh.... more female monster fish keepers could be cool. ?
"Our" hobby is a niche in a larger hobby so it's always nice to get more people involved in the hobby in general as it gives more chances for one of them to turn out to like monster fish.
I had two Rope Fish in a 15g for a few weeks (quarantine) and thought about taking a picture and posting it here or on a couple Facebook groups I am on. "Hey, y'all, just thought you might like to see my Rope Fish in their planted 15g." Figured it would be too close to trolling.
Both in a 200g now (although, on this site, that is tiny too).
