Sorry.... just that carp are public enemy number 1 over here, the biggest pest in our waterways. Makes me shudder everytime I see English anglers cuddle the slimy buggers gently before release. We get fined for releasing them back alive over here.
I feel for English anglers with their limited fishing range.

LOL ok carp care is foremost in the uk as you can see we have a large mat to stop them from damaging them self and as mentioned before some of your Australian carp are ending up here. A 39lb+ carp is worth a fortune here. Have you ever fished for them? It Just amazes me the fight you get off these things is great and as I said earlier you can catch then on a fly carp on fly rod is really good fun go out try it and be a devil and put the poor thing back in the water.
thats me with a 42lber (on its mat) that would sort your fly rod out
and how can you say slimy buggers dont you think that the second fish is stunning i would have it in my pond or tank Ok big tank but we are MFK.

Aussies - I think the point here is that skill can be used in place of brute force. Brute force is the easy way, if you are skilled, like stotty, you don't need to use brute force.
