is it possible to make a pond outside with heating that can house arowana after all in the winter its going to b really cold. im not actually doing it well not unless its possible. would it need like a greenhouse or something over it to keep the heat in. has anyone actually done this

sure its possible but you will probably have to re-mortgage your house to pay for the heating bill! your best bet would be to build a brick shed from breeze-blocks and insulate from the inside

thats what ill be doing - i figure the cost to build a 12x12 foot 'shed will cost me £500 but i do know a bricky and i work in insulation and i also have a mate who works in groundworks to do the footing...

so your probably talking £1000 before the pond is built...

How about putting a tarp over top the pond in the winter that would help keep the heat in.

you can buy 1kw heaters for koi ponds so i would google that and see what it comes up with.

go to braude.co.uk they do like heaters that can be used in sumps i use them they work really well tmc sell them but go direct to braude they will be lots cheaper you can get diffrent shape ones and and what ever watts you like i looked for long time in uk for large fish heaters other than inline koi ones..i idea for you may be.
