I finally plumbed and set up my ultima 2000 for the 450 but the intake and outtake have leaks at the valves. Slow dripping nothing that will be tragic but annoying nonetheless. Directions not to hand tighten them and that’s what I did.

Any suggestions or experience with this?

Mine did too. The tape they put on at the factory is too thin. Try and add about 30% more plumbers tape than they use.

You can always tighten further but be super careful not to go too far and crack the head unit. Mine are a bit past hand tight.

Thanks - I always appreciate your advice - if you are ever up north towards Seattle (I’m in Poulsbo), let me know and I’ll buy you a beer. You’re also welcome to check out the fish room.

Absolutely, thanks man! I head up there a couple times a year and will hit you up next time. Same goes if you’re ever in the Portland area

Did you add gasoline to the rubber gaskets on the valves? Was wondering about that as well.

Nope. I rewrap the unions and start plumbing. All have been fired up right out of the box. The current project has an Ultima to get wrapped this week and I’m considering swapping to the grey tape. I have much less issues with that tape elsewhere.
