Built with 1x3's, doubled up on corners. I used 3/4 ply for top and underneath and 1/2 for bottom of stand. I was going to use 1/8 but figured since I already had the 3/4 - 1/2 ply, might as well use it. The sides are 1/8 ply. The stand is very sturdy even with 1x3. If I had to do it again, I would probably use 1x4 or 1x6, but definitely 1x's are preferable over the 2x's and it's just as sturdy and much straighter and easier to work with.
