umbee are spawning

i just wanted too share these photos with you guys , i wish they wouldn't feed there babies this way , if fish spawn while there's babies in the tank they will sometimes fight there own babies off . well mom doesn't care she's just letting them munch :nilly:. check it out .....

thanks bro , he is a pretty mean fish too but i came back on because ive been checking the babies out , the dad is really fighting them off better and he is actually fertilizing the eggs but they are still eating them though . if this happens again they will know what to do . they just didn't take control fast enough , i got here about 9pm and this was already happening . its 1140pm now and the mom is looking around for them . hope they don't fight about them latter . ill keep you posted ...
 
Hook it up! ;) Jk, JK, I don't have a 300 gallon tank for one of those monsters, lol. Not right now at least. ;) They are absolutely beautiful. Do you have room to raise some of the promising fry separately to see if you can get more males? (Since that's what tends to be the hardest thing to find when it comes to umbees).
 
i think its because people cull the females although they could have low birth numbers for males , anyway when there ready there free but i don't have time to ship , i live in san jose .....
