Got a new cichlid for my 180 and was labeled as umbee? About 9-10 inches. If it's a true umbee then i will be in a 250g tank by itself.

This is not an Umbee. The fish in the photo is Excichlasoma Ornatum or Ornatus. A very rare fish that just became available in the hobby this year. This is an amazing find! Wish I would find one in fish store.
Yes it was a debate for the dealer too as he also thought umbee or ornatum but he just went with umbee as it was the labeled when he ordered it.
Payed $100 CAD for this. He was selling it for $130 but not sure if that's a good deal. How big do this fish gets. How aggressive? So far it's only been 3 days in my tank and not doing much.
Getting a black nasty next and a pair of red terror.
Getting back to the cichlid hobby again. It's been awhile. I just keep getting bad reps by cichlid people that it's time to show them that I also like cichlids and been keeping them for 8 years.

How the hell does someone screw up umbee with ornatus? Who the hell even gets a 9-10" ornatus in to a LFS?
Jeff Rapps is the only one I've seen with ornatus this size, and his 7-8" are $175 and 13" is $350 USD.

No LFS. Got this guy from canadian aquatics and his a private dealer. His a member here too just talk to Charles Lam. His a reputable dealer here in BC but not really well known as he keeps a low profile here in MFK. He can get just about any rare fish from South America to Asia and Africa.
