Getting some juvenile Umbees soon and was just wondering if my clown loaches and green phantom pleco will eventually need to be moved.

I've had a gorillus blue in a community setting with a few under 3" Cl's. Once the umbee hit about 4.5" he needed to be moved to his own tank. Beat on every smaller tank mate, and a few larger. Short answer, yes. It will eventually need to be moved.

If they grow with the loaches you should have zero issuses! I would be worried about Umbees killing each other down the road. Dont put any caves.

its funny i hear that umbee's are maulers but you dont see alot of that behavior on youtube like you do jags and dovii's. its probly cuz if someone actually go's out of their way to get one and house it with the tank it really needs theyre probly educated about the species enough to not even put it with other fish to begin with. id like to see how they react to other large cichlids though

Mine wont tolerate any tank mates except its mate but even keeps her on the other side of the divider most of the time. Has killed plecos and clown loaches and any other fish i tried keeping with him.

All fish even in the same species have different temperaments but I have never seen a fish thrash tankmates like my umbee. And i have owned most of the aggressive guys dovii/butti/jag/ red devil.
