Let me start by saying I have two tanks. 180g and a 90g. I purchased 10 Umbee fry and placed them in my 180g. Now I have 3 left. a 5" a 4" and a 2.5". I purchased 10 festae fry and placed them into the 90g which is seperated. I just purchased 10 Haitiensis juvi's, all around 3.5-4" that i havent received yet.
The Question: I have dividers for both tanks. How would you house the fish?? The largest Umbee, which I assume is a female, pesters the smaller Umbees, but when I had them all seperated they seemed to sulk. Do I divide the 180g and keep the two smaller Umbee on one side and the new Odo juvies on the other. Then place the largest Umbee in the divided 90 with the Festae fry? Or do I keep the Umbee undivided in the 180 and hope for the best and put the Odo fry in the divided 90 with the Festae fry and hope they dont get too stressed and bloat. Or do I place the two smaller Umbee in the divided 90 with the Festae and keep the largest Umbee in the 180 divided with the Odo's on the other side....?
The main thing here is I want to end up with one male of each fish. Unfortunately I feel that all my Umbee are females. I just want the best set-up to allow all the fish to thrive to the best of their abilities. Suggestions?

Personally, I would get rid of the umbees and house the haitiensis there. If you really want to ensure you have a long bonded pair. I would wait till a pair or 2 form then get rid of the remaining haitiensis. Haitiensis don't do well in a communicate... the stress is too much.

The reason I say get rid of the Umbees is because you can't house a pair longterm in your 180.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
