I had two wild caught umbees. One I had for over a year and the second one I purchased from a reputable vendor a couple weeks ago. When I placed them together I had them separated for a couple days before removing the divider. They only lasted half a day until I had to divide them again. The older one been slightly damaged in his dorsal fin and the newer one had a small open wound on his side. A couple days after this they both got ich. No new fish were added. Im assuming it was dormant in the tank from the previous infestation. I treated the ich but by the time I had finished treating the ich my older umbee died. I have since been dosing the tank with melafix but the wound has gotten bigger and redder. What can I do?

Umbiee do not mind the Salt.
Salt + Temp = might have helpped
It is very tempting to keep an Umbiee with another Fish. No one would blame you for this...
