So I have 25 Umbee at about 2 inches in a 135g. There is one cave and there is this tough buger, one of the bigger of the 25 that has claimed that cave and will not let any of the other Umbee in his cave lol, I mean he literally chases all 24 of the other ones away lol. He is also darker then the rest more blackish. I have never owned Umbee before but have heard they are mainly peaceful up untill about 5 to 6 inches. Do I have my self a umbee that will be a crazy nut when bigger or is this aggression quite common even at that size?

Whoever said they'll be peaceful untill 5" just fed you a line of bs... Umbees are extremely conspecific and remain that way from 1" for life. Once they hit 3.5-4" you'll start to get pairs forming. Is say pull the cave and leavr the tank bare while you have that many together to help keep aggression down. But you'll still get aggressiom and be prepared to have some losses until you achieve your pair. You will enjoy this growouts stage tho. Congrats and good luck. Post pics when u can

Ok so I will pull out the cave. Thanks! Yes I was very excited to get them, and can't wait to get my pair. I will post pictures soon of there progress. I have another question. Because of space I put Trimacs in with them as well, there is 20 but they are about 1 inch, so they are smaller. Should I remove the Trimacs you think? Or will they be fine for a bit? Thanks for your info!

I would leave the trimacs for now. Don't freak out if you have a few losses, it'll happen during the settling in period and may have a couple more during the growout stages. Just remember to feed at least twice a day, keep temp high 70's and do large frequent water changes to keep up with the bio load:)
