iv got a nice male flowerhorn cichlid in my 5ft 3ft 30 inch tank" I'm picking up a pair of Rio mag umbee next week" male 18 inch female 9-10 inch"
just wont to ask would the flowerhorn some how be able to live with the umbee?
would the flowerhorn be able to hold his area the other side of the tank and each have there line they would not cross! or would they just kill each other?

About if I put divider in 1st so they could see each other! then take down after week or two!

It won’t work in a 5ft tank, trust me. I’ve tried.
Sorry my friend. Your gonna have to figure out what you want to keep.

You could try the divider and who knows maybe it will work for a while but I have a feeling the male umbee will end up beating up the female if they are stuck together where she can’t escape. You could try letting her pass to either side with a hole just big enough for her. But then you risk losing the bond and then all hell will brake lose with one female and two males in a tank.

That’s my personal opinion.
Good luck with whatever you decide

Thanks mate for your info" will have small pots for female to get out way of the male"
think will put divider in tank of say 3/4th area size for big umbees! then just see whot they act like with divider in place"
