Umbee Pair

I have a small pair of umbee(4-5") that are in a 155 cichlid grow out tank and recently they have seemed to come very close to spawning. Both fish have cleared a piece of slate and have been displaying their organs for 24-48 hours. The only issue is that this has now happened twice and they just stop.

First of all, are these umbee too small to spawn?

Could the female be egg bound?

Why would they just stop out of no where?

A little on the small side so dont be surprised if they dont succeed at spawning. It is good though that theyre showing signs this young. If they dont now im sure theyll figure it out for you. My pair spawned at about 5" and is now going at it again. Umbees are fun

I don't think she is egg bound. Being young is most likely the problem.

If she is bound up I would definitely try some EGGSLAX for cichlids
