I have a 4 inch umbee that I selected from 13 that were 1.5 inch It was third in pecking order and had the brightest blue freckles and orange copper in its cheeks and was as big as the two most dominant, when I removed the two most dominant He then became the most dominant, so I assumed he was a male. Today when feeding I noticed he pecktoral fins went kinda black which I have seen prior on occasion as well, just his peck fin nothing else.
My question is has any one grown a male umbee that had dark peck fins but turned out male or is this a 100% sign that its a female? Also I notice it has less of a sloped fore head as my other two that are with him.
