Im trying to gather as much information possible on umbee before I get a few at about 2"s. I have a 150g that they'll live in for the first year or two then hopefully I have two paired up and ill move them to a 210 or 240. Im wondering how i should aqua scape this 150g. Should I go with rock or sand substrate. I heard umbee require very clean water, and once a week water changes. I wanted to go with sand, but if the umbee clean clean water and many water changes im thinking rock would be easier to maintain. MFK help me out this setup is going up as soon as I figure out the setup.

sand will be fine. and try to keep tank open for room to swim but also have a hiding place or two for the female and a place to spawn(pot or slate) as long as you dont over feed you wont have and issue with the sand. but umbees love to re-decorate the substrate themselves and will move sand or gravel where they see fit;) and water changes are a must, also oxygen amount via air stone or power heads work great. by keeping a current in the tank it will help your fish's body look more natural versus sitting in a "still" setting and becoming a tank potatoe;) lol
