Umbee sex

Never owned an umbee as they are hard to find in the uk. It's about 3" the vent looks pointy

The fish is very young so still developing. But at this point I am going to say female.

I would guess male pal, I have a suspected female at this size down in Kent whoop!-)
Female have black in the dorsal, pectoral and anal fins.
Might be wrong at this size but keep checking the fin colour pal.

No way to know the sex 100% correctly at this size. I have 4 blue umbees. All looked the same but one turned male and the others turned female after two months.

Looks female to me, but like the others said take more pictures when its around 5-6" then we can sex it for sure.

easy male fellas. colorful dorsal and overall appearance. the scales aren't feminine if you compare to the other pics.

I would lean towards male too but at this size and even a couple more inches can be still hard to tell.. Age plays a bigger part in being able to sex cichlids at small sizes..
