Umbee sexing

I have 8 umbee blacks that i have been growing out hoping to get a pair. This is one of the largest i have but i think its female wondered if anyone could give me a better idea. It seems to of paried up with a smaller fish that is male, well he had a hump starting on his head.

You sure they're gorillus blacks n not blues? The one you think is male is. The one you say female could be but if looks like a gorillus blue female not a black. Black females have red freckles on forehead and face. That pic shows none. Also a good indicator is anal fin will start trail in for makes around 6" wheras females will be a blunt point.. But vent also says female

I got them imported from Cichlids of America a few months ago, i ordered blacks that is as much as i know. The pics are taken on my phone so maybe the red is not picked up to well.

The second fish is 100% female because when i checked lastnight i found this.


So i guess if these hatch i have my answer right , how long is that normally?

Yup congrats!! If you bought from coa then they are blacks.

I'd of loved blues but black was all i could get.

Yet to see if these hatch, i have my doubts.
