Picked this guy up today about 10-11" raised in a comm tank with another male the same size. Hes in my community set up until i find the right tank. Regardless ill be monitoring aggression closely. hes only been in the tank an hour hopefully his colour will start coming back in a few days. His body seems kind of deep not sure if hes slighly stunted or just solid if anyone cares to weigh in

I bet he looks fantastic in the flesh, try to dim the lighting and use a light source from the tank front for some pics dude:)

Hes pretty faded out hes spent weeks in 20gallon shop tank waiting to find a home, im hoping after a week or two of settling in hell colour back up and continue growing. He swims around like a mini hulk same as a flowerhorn lol keeps trying to school with my bass. I do have to practice my photography skills they dont do any of my fish justice.

I'm sure he will. Get him on some dark substrate too that will help, he will darken and contrast will be better. Move your top lighting right to the front pain if you can too, the light with bounce of the visable side of the fish. Run a blue bulb along side a colour white bulb, both low wattage and shorter than the tank, creAtes a nice effect for pics and a relaxed evening tank like...
I hate it when tanks look like the actual sun is in your lounge permanently

its water change day tomorrow ill do some arranging of the lighting see if i can nail the effect. Going to hunt some more driftwood too so he can claim a territory of his own and settle in. Anyone know what there growth is like after 12" i imagine 3-4 years to hit the 18-20" mark
