Here are a few pictures from tonight of my Umbee I’ve been growing out. He’s looking pretty nice these days. I think he’ll look very nice by the time he’s 12” or so.

I don't have a lot of experience with this fish, but I do know that I have never seen an Umbee with pearls across its head and face the way yours does. He is stunning looking!! And he is still very small. As an adult he is going to be ridiculous. Is this kind of pearling rare for this species??
Yes, they only look better as they mature. He’ll look very nice in a few years. The speckling has more to do with original collection point. This location is known to have lots of freckling one the head like he does.
