Ok so i do have a 220 gallon tank that i had my umbees in before temporarily moving them to my 75 gallon. Here is my reasoning so hear me out. I have a lot of haps/peacocks that were in my 75 gallon and it was way overstocked so i want to just grow them out a little bigger and keep the nice ones and sell the rest. I moved the umbees to the 75 so i can do more water changes and maintain the water better. My biggest male is about 5" and the reast are 4.75", 4", and 3.5". My main question is how long could i grow out these guys in my 75. I am going to keep a close eye on aggression but i have never noticed anything serious with them before. I have one for sure male and i believe two for sure females. I want to get a pair and than get rid of the rest and than move the pair back to my 220. Any thoughts and advice would be much appreciated. theyre all looking really nice so far so i dont want to jeapordize anything. my male is putting on good size so im thinking he will be 7 inches with in the next two months or so. but like i said before, basically only moved them to the 75 because than i can do large water changes a few times a week and keep them real healthy. once i get a pair i am moving them to the 220 asap and getting rid of the rest and moving the haps/peacocks back to the 75.

Put them back in the 220 quick unless you want to loose all but the dominate one. Screw the haps... They suck anyway. You could divide it 4 ways or put the umbees with the haps in the big tank. I would think typically larger volumes of water are easier to maintain. But that's me. Good luck either way.

I know what you mean, i dont care much about the haps as much as i do the umbees but ive never noticed any major aggression with my umbees. I might just get rid of my other umbees and just grow out my dominant male a few more inches. they are all from the same parents, two different spawns thought so is it even possible for them to spawn together than? i kind of just want to raise my dominant one alone and than find him a female somewhere else.

Not a bad plan. But the dominate one may be a lady... just keep that in mind if you sell the rest. Or vent them for verification.
