ok well my dad realized the other day that my fish are gonna be big(compared to the pictus cats and glow light tetras i have had before) so he thinks that means they will live a long time. so how long will these fish live?
2 female jack dempseys
1 male blood parrot
1 ornate pim catfish
1 silver datnoide
1 bushynose pleco
thnx if i could find out how long each fish will live average that would be great, they will be in a 125, with some high end kick A filters, driftwood and sand, temp will be around 78-84 F. thnx

Would not suggest your stock list. I am not a pro, but the jack dempseys might get too aggressive for the datnoids which grow at a MUCH slower rate.

2 female jack dempseys = up to 20 years, usually 10 or 15
1 male blood parrot = same
1 ornate pim catfish = not known by me...
1 silver datnoide = Also not sure but would guess a longer time than the dempseys
1 bushynose pleco = again, 15 years is a safe bet but could be shorter or longer.

But the fish you already have will live that long, too. Tetras can go around ten years on average and pictus cats are the same.

ok, ya the longest i have ever had a fish live was maybe 7 years. i didnt know the jacks would live that long. thnx for the input

Chilll, Mike. Was a joke.
It amused me, I had never thought of it that way, but it makes sense that a large cichlid may live longer than a smaller fish. Just the way we think of things..no need to get upset tho all in good fun
