Been running my new 150g tank for a while now, and there's something that bothers me... there's a lot of air bubbles in the water, and its ESPECIALLY noticeable in the mornings when sunlight directly hits the water.

The thing looks fine under normal room/tank lighting... but this i just dont know how to get rid of. Are micro bubbles like this bad for the stock? Any suggestions would help... :confused:

How confident are you that you have air bubbles and not a white cloudy microbial bloom?

What is your ammonia level? That looks like the bloom that comes with ammonia.

I agree... I've never seen micro bubbles like that. Not even from my skimmer on my marine tank when it was new... What are your water params??

At first glance it looks like it could be unsettled sand mixed in the water.

I probably has something to do with the ammonia level. OP, are you noticing white foam in the corner of the tank?

TBH it just looks like bubbles (my seems to think so as well), but i'm unsure now... info i forgot to mention: its a FW-tank after 1.5 weeks of cycling, also the water in the sump looks doesn't have that weird HAZE when I do the same lightening effect to it's water...

@kdrun76 & geronimo69>
NH3: ~0.25ppm
NO2: ~0.3ppm
N03: ~5.0ppm

@Ego: Running a DIY sump filter is a LFS pad on my drip tray

@Chromobotia: sand is quite settled, no foam in any corner, just a small tad at the bottom of my corner overflow, but that's prolly the water smashing it the pool of water.

If it is a bacterial bloom will it go away into clear water sooner or later? Are is the bloom harmful to stock if its persistent? Is this because I'm used scrubbies from the dollar store and its not sticking to them or something? :|

It has nothing to do with your scrubbies. If it is a bacterial bloom (highly likely given that this is an uncycled tank), it will go away.
