Hello MFK! I have a 180 gallon tank with two reticulated stingrays. (You know where I'm going with this.) Can I add some red bellied piranhas? (or if you could tell me some cheaper and smaller piranhas that'd be great) also, I really enjoy hand feeding my rays. Will this be a problem? And is tank maintenance a problem? If you could PM me with an extremely detailed care sheet for piranhas it would be great.

what they are trying to say is it is not a good idea...they will treat the rays as a potential food source...not good. they may last a month or 2 but afterwards it will be a piranha solo tank.

And if the P's don't eat the rays, handfeeding is like wearing Lady Gaga's meat dress and hanging out with an emaciated junkyard dog. Also known as "a bad idea". If you want midwater movement, get some silver dollars, or some tetras.

old old thread, original poster never came back.

since the topic came up though, i seen some pretty neat hand feeding piranha videos. i'd do it if i could. not patient enough to put in the time though
