I would like to know if anyone has ever made or bought a fish tank made from unusual materials ( not glass, wood, acrylic or cement ). I am curious about what is possible to be made with non conventional materials. Or what is designed for something else that can be converted into an aquarium. Of course it must be cheeper then going out and buying a ready made tank. I would like to make my own tank 100+g, would love 1,000+g :headbang2but I need ideas. If you have pictures or links that would be great :)

If there is a cheaper way it has been done on this forum. But looking round all large containers are either non water proof over long periods of time or do not lend themselves to the addition of a view window.

Probably can make a mini aquarium out of gladware or a ziplock bag.

Actually a clear bag for a tank would be interesting.... but it would have to be very durable material...

Generally other than tank or acrylic most materials don't provide a clear enough view to make it worth it.
