so i join the community to find out how any members will take my way of fish keeping. i am not surprised some could not believe what i am saying.... i had some resistance in having a tank that do not undergo water change for 8 weeks and yet has a 10 ppm nitrate.

i just hope we do not have members here who condemn hobbyist who eat what they raised....
first example: vegetable on top of the tanks that helps keep the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate under check and yet taste good.... this is after cutting the tops and the 2nd regeneration in the offing:

Seems more like aquaculture than fish-as-pets to me. My fish all have great personalities and are more members of the family than anything else so I wouldn't even consider eating them, but hey if that's your thing then so be it. Keeping fish as pets certainly doesn't stop me eating fish - I just stick to ones I have no emotional attachment to :)

yeah, i know... but what will you do if you have around 700 tilapia fingerlings that eventually grew up around 8 to 10 inches long???? grilling is the only option to free the tank for the next batch...
