Common, and abundantly kept in many aquaria are the beautiful Lemon Tetra, Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis. Nowadays, most of the lemon tetras seen for sale are farm bred, usually arriving at stores quite young, as tiny versions of the ~1" adult they will become. They have a life span of up to 3-5 years.
One of my favorites fish, I have had them at various times, but only recently I acquired some again and am enjoying them very much. Mines came in tiny, as mentioned, and have by now reached adult size and are courting each other and gracing my tank. My group is only 15 Lemons, but I plan on getting more. Very assertive even among larger fish, not aggressive but very personable, hardy and active, always swimming and displaying to each other in the open. A couple of shots below shows them a a group, and I added a whole view of the tank they are in. Finally, a picture of a large planted tank at the Zoo and Aquarium in Cali, Colombia, shows a beautiful display of several species of small tetras in a grand view, which includes Lemons. I appear in the photo pointing at something to my sister.
Do you have a group of Lemon tetras? Would you show them here?

My favorites small tetra are diamond tetras, I have a group of 5 wild ones that are wonderful. Big flowing fins, bright colours, fun as they display to each other.
