under gravel jet

ok fellows its been awhile since i been on here. i got a ? when i do a under gravel jet system what size pipe should i run an also should it be a continueous loop system or should it just come to an end. i have a 240 gallon tank with african cichlids an a 55 for my sump any help would be appretiated.also im running a mag 9 for my return pump

well ive never done one but it all depends on the out put u want and the power of ur pump. you want enough flow to keep things moving so u need a smallrer pipe but not as to be so small as to mess up ur pump

ok should i use a 1/8 drill bit for my holes or a 1/16 bit or any other recomndations.
