I don't keep up with the latest in equipment made for aquariums, but you can use a spa light. They put out quite a bit of heat, so your heater won't have to work so hard.

Curious...Wonder how fish will react to an unnatural light source...that bright beside or under them?

I know some don't like all glass with room light coming up from the bottom.

Could cause confusion, and effect their eating habits.
Be like swimming in a tanning booth....

Spa lights, I like it....I'd stick a large piece of driftwood on top of it, breaking up the light....Maybe this way the fish will gradually get used to light shinning up their butts..:naughty: ....As time progresses, and the fish look confortable with it on, remove the driftwood....

Thank you importracer and dr. joe but i'm not familiar at all do you mean like lights used for a hot tub as in spa lights or is this a brand or make or what do you mean i have no clue thanks again for you'r time and input

pools and spas use lights underwater all the time. they do put out a good amount of light and this could be used. may i ask you not conventional lighting methods??
