Anybody else pick the "worst" fish out of the group just because you know you can help it/nobody else will want it, i dont think i can list a single time i didnt take the "bad" fish. (example, humpy danios, broken wiskers, cut up tails, ect)

I am not sure if its a good thing, but i cant ever help it :nilly:

sometimes ... I have a curviceps in my tank at work that I bought because she was the last one left at the LFS ... ditto for the rainbow cichlid I bought last month

one of the best fish I ever had was a beat-up Texas that I bought out of a tank full of convicts

but I only do it when I already have room ... otherwise, too bad ...

I usually look for the best looking fish...Though if there is a fish that looks kind of stressed, and it shouldn't be in that tank, I'll take it.

done that once, have a turquoise sev around 1.5" when i got him he was torn up from a tank of blood parrots and had ich, most of his fins are healed and his ich is totally gone, soon to make the upgrade from 10 to the 45 gallon as soon as i move over the firemouth to the 75

As a joke we stocked my buddy's 50 gal with all the most mutated, deformed with we received at the store, was a er.... unique looking tank.
