I set up my 180 today with two UGJ systems. I used 1/2 inch PVC pipes. I think that I am not getting as much waterflow as there should be to make it work. RIght now i am using two Marineland 1140 Powerheads. Is that enough? Please recommend a better powerhead for me. Thanks.

I don't know that power head but with all of mine I make sure I have at least 300gph for each hole so if you have one with 9 holes I would use a pump rated at 2700gph
heres a pic of my setup, if you run prefilters on your pumps it almost eliminates gravel vacing or so ive heard. There also a tutorial here http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/ug_jets.php
just wondering... would this UGJ work with any other fish. or only cichlids? i saw this one on a frontosa website since i was thinking of having a frontosa colony but does it mean having a UGJ that i have to have cichlids or it can be with other fish? don't want to spin their brains out when the currents are too much.

What are those jets for? To help with filtration.. get the doody up to the top so it goes to the sump?
