Underground Heating for outdoor pond.

I was wondering if anyone has ever used commercial underground heaters for larger pond builds.

I have used waterbed heaters under preformed ponds up to 125 G with great success, but I am thinking more 15' x 10' x 3' (deep)

I think that heating the water would be considerably more efficient, a lot of heat will be dissipating into the ground rather than into your pond.
