I've been wanting to get this for my camera but it's $150!!!! OUCH

Still dont know if it's worth it for something I may just use once. :( I am going to the Philippines early next year and would be handy to have when I am snorkling under water

Underwater pics are awesome. A girl I work with has a waterproof camera casing. The pics she got from her european scuba diving trip are awesome. Some very cool fish pics!! $150 is something you will get many times in your life, but you will only get to take those pics once...

If you think it'll be a 1-time occassion, try the disposable snorkeling cameras? Lately, you can find true disposable dive cameras for less than $20. They're good to 75ft and have viewfinders that can actually be used while you're wearing a mask. Considering where you're going, why risk getting an expensive rig stolen?

Taking vids with a digital camera underwater isn't easy. If you have auto features, the light refraction really messes with your camera. Autofocus won't work at all due to surge and suspended particulates. And, without a spot, everything fades to dim and blue fairly shallow.
