Ok so I had 5 of these in a 40 breeder and 2 of them paired off but no breeding so I moved them to a 55 gallon the so paired spawned unexpectly in a flower pot the only other thing in the tank besides are 3 exxdons i cant seem to catch.my question is what is my best technique to make sure the eggs hatch and raise the most fry

Remove the exodons asap. I suck my festae fry out when they free swim, but they will grow larger if raised w/ parents and feeding off their slime coats. You just need to watch out for male eating them and trying to spawn again and/or picking on female.

Congrats! What size are the parents? Any pix?

I'm going through the same thing right now, an unexpected spawn. I would say you just let mother nature take its course and keep an eye on your pair to make sure they don't snap on each other. I definitely second what Decker has said above. Oh and yea, post some pics please!

Congrats. Once the fry hatch into wrigglers then remove the exxdons immediately. I highly recommend leaving the fry with the parents for the first couple of spawns to strengthen their bond. Have a divider handy in case you need to the male and female . In my experience, if the fry don't hatch because they weren't fertilized or the eggs get eaten, the male will become outraged and start attacking the female. In which case divide right away. But if the eggs hatch then leave them be and just keep an eye on them. Good luck.

camera phone pics so could be alot better
