I came down to my tank this morning and to my amazement I saw four little fronts in the corner. I did not even know they were pregant. I put the ones I have found in a separate 20 gal tank by themselves. The front is still holding several babies in her mouth. What do I do? What do I feed them? I want to save as many as possible?

don't interfere and they should be alright

if the egg sacks have gone then i feed mine crushed flake and brine shimp or dafnia once and week. i also feed the female up befor she goes back in the main tank as they usually go three weeks without eating. as your female is still in the tank just try to keep an eye on her. the first brood is a small one
hope thats helped

how big do they have to be?one of my fronts dug out the whole corner and then abandoned it.hes only like 4 inches so i dont know what he was doing.my other frontsare even smaller so i aint got an idea at all about whats going on

Cgoldsmith.... typically I strip my Frontosas no earlier than 5 days after spawning and tumble the eggs/fry. In your case you're stoked because she held full term. This may sound funny but wait till they're asleep (less activity/resistance from the female resulting in damaging/killing fry), net the female out and "stripe" her of the fry. Simply pry her mouth open with your fingers and dunk her mouth in a bucket of water or net to remove the fry. Then place the fry in a growout tank. Here's a video clip I found on you-tube. Good Luck.
