unexpected situation

Last 3 day I was doing water change and saw a nets/holes that was create from the gravel. I thought one of my fish was playing with the gravel. Today i saw my 2 sererum are getting more and more aggressive and swimming around the holes. I'm thinking thier breeding. I see the dark serrarum pick up the gravel with his/her mouth and spit it out.

Soon will expected eyes? Now i got pbass, oscars, parrot, aro, dats in the tank with them. I think the other fish will eat the eyes.

what should i do? how do you tell the serrarum which is male or female?

is this a sign of breeding?

sounds like they may be. might want to get them into a tank by themselves. or just let them be if you dont want the fry.

the gold severum is the male. looks like a great pair you have there. mine are breeding in a community tank with dats and the fry keep getting eaten. if you want the fry to survive, move them to a separate tank. good luck. keep us posted
