I have had my new tank set up for about 3 weeks now, and it just isn't doing it for me right now. I had a few fish i transferred from my 40 gallon as it was too small, and they just dont fit in with what i wanted, yet i wouldn't feel right selling them back to my LFS and then potentially going to a bad home.

The fish i moved from my old tank were a severum and blood parrot that i got when i got my first tank about 6 months ago, when i was new to fishkeeping. both are around 5 inches.

Currently the tank consists of:
1 severum
1 blood parrot
1 JD ~ 4 inches.
1 GT ~ 3 inches.
1 nic ~ 3 inches.
1 convict ~ 2 inches.
6 SD's
3 Pictus cats

What i want, need some opinions on experience with these fish.
1 Vieja Argentea
1 Herichthys Pantepec/turquoise
1 GT
Pair of Sajica's
1 nic.
6 SD's
some Catfish.
then maybe,
1 Female Jag?

i dunno, just right now doesnt seem to 'fit'. hard to explain. Tank is filtered with an Fx5 and sand substrate.

one thing i kind of noticed that i liked, is that when having a medium sized, semi-aggressive fish like a 5-6 inch blood parrot / severum like i have, it seems like they could help prevent a more aggressive fish that is still small from becoming overly aggressive and realizing what it is capable of. Just by constantly following it and chasing it, seems like it can keep it in check. anyone notice this or experience it before?

I always buy 5 juviniles of cichlid species I would like a pair of. It usually works out and I take the left over fish back to the pet shop. 1 of this and that is cool but a breeding pair of cichlids in your tank is always entertaining. I have a Trimac that keeps my juvi festaes in check!
