I was at my LFS today that usually has a large selection of L number plecos so are pretty knowledgeable well they had a unidentified striped pleco they didn't know what type and neither did their importer so I got him pretty cheap and put him in a tank that gets all types of food until I can figure out what he is

I just went through every peckoltia on planet catfish and while some looked similar either their snouts were to stubby, their patterns just weren't right, or they didn't have lyre tails. The closest I found were L477 and Peckoltia sp. `RIO PARU`

It was normally called just tiger pleco, I had one back in the early 90's. It was a peckoltia back then but it may have gotten upgraded to panaque like the clown. I'm looking into it more but may have to stop for awhile.
