Yeah I'm pretty much positive it's one of those two, I'd lean towards bocourti as well because of the orage/gold... but the two species look very similar to me when young
I does look like a pearsei or bocourti to me too, here are some pics to compare.

As they grow, pearsei usually exit a dark area in the abdomen that bocourti don't.

Looking at the photos you shared I'd have to say this guy is a bocourti. That's kind of what I thought. But I wanted to be sure.

called it right away. Thanks guys.As for you, you should post this on a thread asking about the sex of a Parachromis managuensis. But no harm no foul. Its still Abit small to call, it looks to be about 3 inches? Maybe 4? That about right? Kinda looks like alittle male that hasn't grown his pointy fins yet. But I still say let it grow out Abit and re-ask. But maybe some one else can give you a better more clear response.
