Unidentified "Turtle" Stingray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That Hybrid looks very similar to the one that JimR was selling.

Nice rays by the way.

Very nice rays and yes it is a castexi ray. I bought a turtle ray a couple of years ago. It is just a fancy name that sellers like to add. Here is a pic of the one I had.

Pretty sure that is Jim's old Hybrid. I've never kicked myself for missing out on a ray like I have for that one. That thing is just Phenominal.

Very beautiful ray! You mentioned a high growth rate for tiger rays; I am looking at adding a tiger hybrid to my collection; Any idea on a normal growth rate for a tiger? Maximum known disc size in captivity?

Thanks, not sure about the normal growth rate for tigers, I have read in the past that tigers and otorongos grow rapidly and larger than the 24" disc that you usually see out of motoros. Tigers also have a very long tail compared to most rays, close to the length of there body. I am sure someone else around here has some hands on experience with them.
